Well that seemed comfortable enough. Fingers crossed for the semi-finals.

Indeed. What a story - bidding should begin now for the film rights. Mention should also be made of coaches Trevor Painter and Jennie Meadows who have done extraordinary things at this Olympics

As I said Gail - a miracle. That's exactly what it was. She should be Sports Personality of the Year.

I think we all are! It was the race of her life (so far!).What a talent!

No idea about your ‘deliberate’ mistake. Let’s just celebrate a great achievement by Georgia. How about that?
Stewart Jones ● 105d
Spot the deliberate mistake (not).

I switched my TV on not knowing what event I would be watching and felt lucky to catch the last two laps of the women's 1300m.How good was Chiswick's own Georgia Bell to hand off the great Laura Muir to get bronze. And Laura Bell's sportsmanship was something to behold.
Yes, and Laura Muir was so gracious in her post race interview even though she must have been so disappointed to miss out on a medal.
Absolutely brilliant. And well done to Ms Muir too.

Absolutely stunning performance by Ms Bell !!

Well done and nearly caught the Australian.

"I'd say that a 'win' for Georgia would be to finish 5th or 6th."So what is a bronze medal then? :-)
Gail Busza ● 105d
Yes, very well done!!
Well done Georgia Bell! 👏
Thank you Felicty. Yes, Frost just loves taking every thread off-piste!

As I have become an instant expert on athletics over the last few days, I'd say that a 'win' for Georgia would be to finish 5th or 6th. That would an astonishing achievement. Anything more would be a miracle.

There he goes again. Silly old man.
Steve Taylor ● 107d
'Two nouns' Taylor just being thick again.
Mark Frost ● 107d
Frost just being facetious again. He just can’t help himself.
Bloody immigrants - coming over to this country and potentially delivering Olympic glory

Chill out, I found it an interesting fact and thought I would share.
Whilst her parents were temporary living there. She was educated at St Mary's school in Chiswick, then Sacred Heart in Hammersmith and finally Cardinal Vaughan...as did my daughter! And your point is?

2nd and into the final for the girl born in Paris.
Well done Georgia Bell...having left Chiswick, we're avidly following her success from here in Hampshire.
It's taking place at 6.35 this evening. She seems to have a good chance of getting through as only three of the runners in her heat have run faster than her this season and the first six go through.
