Chiswick W4 problem

Has anyone else had recent problems with the ChiswickW4 website? I have been unable to get onto it for several days, but this morning it finally re-opened. I ask because I'd like to know if there was a general problem or whether it was just my computer misbehaving.

The problem was Jackie nothing would open even the general Chiswicknews letter so if they do inform us it would have to be short note to oure-mail address that we don't have to open.

Was rather poor of ChiswickW4 not to send a newsletter out to their subscribers while the site was down letting them know what was happening. And then failing to provide any subsequent explanation and reassurance.It’s what most professionally managed sites would do.  Downtime happens, but always good to keep communicating and explaining. But personally I quite enjoyed the break.

I initially thought perhaps the domain had expired, but apparently some people could still access the site, so I am unsure as to what happened, too.

What a loss this site would be to the velomaniacs of Chiswick if it fell over completely... Humpty Campbell might have a great fall in frustration at not being able to post his rants.

As several other contributors have pointed out, it's a relief to find 'it wasn't just me'. Several interesting anecdotes along the way, and yes, Jim, it was unusual to see Barrow mentioned in the news, though I was sad to hear of Dave Myers' death.

The forum went blank on me too over the weekend.After wasting an hour in vain trying to solve the problem I called out a computer wizard who also tried in vain.So not to waste my £45 fee I got him to fix my wife's smart phone problem.Job done.

It was down for me on Sunday when I tried the links from the weekly newsletter so I emailed the chiswickw4.com team and had the following reply, "Hi Jo, I've been able to access the site but lots of people apparently haven't. [Name] says the problem is fixed but it might take a bit of time for access to be fully restored."A resident who had contacted me to ask if the site was down, checking it wasn't just an issue for him, followed up yesterday saying that it was back yesterday afternoon.

I still can't access chiswickW4.com directly using my Virgin Media connection. But I can access it on the same connection when using my work VPN on top of it.

Colin, I had the same issue - I logged in to the Brentford TW8 site to see if it was a wider problem with Nnet but it seemed to be just CW4.

I have had same problem Colin.  That's the old Forum I have never beenable to access the new W4 site.
