The mayors message to london just out

Dear Londoner, As a country, we have seen an alarming spike in hate towards our Jewish and Muslim communities in the last few months.  In times of darkness, it is easy to feel helpless. If you feel this way, you aren’t alone. Here’s my message to you:  I am proud to be Mayor of a city that celebrates diversity and values the rich contributions that people from all backgrounds make. Diversity is our greatest strength—never forget that. I won't be distracted. We’ve achieved a lot, but I will never stop pushing to build a better London for everyone.   This includes delivering free school meals for our children because no child should go hungry. Introducing a fares freeze on TfL journeys to make travel more affordable during the cost-of-living crisis. Building record numbers of homes to ensure Londoners have somewhere safe and affordable to live, and creating positive opportunities for hundreds of thousands of young people.  As your Mayor, I will never stop fighting for you.   As a collective, we will always outnumber those who seek to divide us.  Even in the most difficult times, where there is humanity, there is hope.  With best wishes,Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan..................................................... Yep, no mention of continuous protests costing huge amounts of money and dividing society in the process. Attacks on civilians, attacks on cultures, street theft, shop theft, hate crime, general crime, street crime,knife crime. I'm just so glad he's giving free school meals, no fare rises, and more homes. What a blooming relief. I can now sleep easy in the capital of a nighttime just knowing my children are out and about in a safe capital and my tube fares are frozen when I wake up. Complete and utter A**

I get your point Julian, but I doubt very much whether any, if few politicians know the price of a loaf of bread, a pint of milk, the starting pay of a policeman.I wonder if Sadiq Khan would have answered all the questions?

Except she does not know how much a bus ride costs,does not know how much a entry level policeman earns and has talked in the past about hammersmith bridge and months later thought it was owned by two councils when asked what she would do by a caller on LBC Im sorry.but those are the basics you should know,especially when your the one who imposes fare increases,the in waiting Police and Crime Commissioner when it comes to increasing numbers and hammersmith bridge under road networks in the capital. You can be apposed,but you got to know

It is unfair to imply the leading conservative mayor candidate, Susan Hall a clown.She has grand ideas to improve our roads, and boost the housing problems.She is opposed to all Sadiq Khan's expanding measures on ULEZ, LTNs, and 20mph limits. She would boost police numbers, focusing on assaults, burglaries, theft, vandalism, increase stop & searches, and introduce safe places for women.Admittedly she lacks gravitas, and her chances of election suffer from London's 47% ethnic demography.However, despite the FPTP system it is still worth the effort to vote, if only to lower the standing of the despicable Sadiq Khan.

He forgot to boast about the £6 million spent on rebranding the Overground. What an achievement that is for an organisation Khan insisted was desperately short of funding and was being held to ransom by the Government.He’s also forgotten to mention his whacking great increase in his share of our council tax, largely going to fund his ever expanding PR team. This from the Evening Standard last December (and this is a paper that usually sucks up to him):‘The Greater London Authority Band D precept was £276 when Mr Khan became mayor. He increased it to £280.02 in 2017/18, then to £294.22 in 2018/19, £320.51 in 2019/20, £332.07 in 2020/21, £363.66 in 2021/22, £395.59 in 2022/23 and £434.14 for 2023/24 – the latter a 9.7 per cent rise, the biggest for 20 years.’
