Running club for kids

Hi does anyone know of a local running club that my six year old son  can join? Thank you Juliette

Ealing Eagles have a minimum age of 8 but a wonderful programme of training and runs once children reach that age.There are park runs, with no age restrictions (lower or upper) all over West London on Saturday mornings. They are also good social events for parents, many of whom catch the running 'bug' as a result of their children participating.I do hear that the coffee and cakes at Gunnersbury are particularly good. ;-)

The Ealing Half Marathon for youngsters takes place the day before the adults one - both a great success.  They took place yesterday 24/9/23 and the day before this year.  (Last Sunday in September and I think entries are already open for next year.)It's wonderful to see all the different contestants taking part and being applauded by the community as they run - and especially during the stretch before the finish line.  Yesterday we happened to see a 75 year old finish the race who'd taken part each year since it started.Other years we've watched the youngsters - which have included parents running with them and pushchairs for the youngest - as well as the more serious older ones.There is bound to be some local press coverage.I believe there is also a Park Run in Gunnersbury Park.

I think that most of the junior running clubs take kids only from age 8 or 9. The junior parkruns (2km every Sunday 9am, ages 4-14, free) are popular. All sorts of speeds including walking welcomed - a few of the kids are pretty fast. There's one in Acton Park.
