3G Switch off

The 3G switch off is coming sooner. Vodaphone have already switched off in some areas. If you have a candy bar phone check it. I checked my spare phone and it needs to be replaced, not exspensive however.

If you look on the Vodaphone site they have already shut down 3G in Glasgow and some other areas. They state everywhere in the UK will be shut down by 2024. 2033 is what was agreed with the government. Emergency services are mentioned as well and it states they will be shut down. There is the code to find your IMEI number and you can enter it and see what is the actual state of your phone.

Only if you use data. 2G for voice and alarms will remain fully connected until at least 2033. If you have an old choccy bar phone for emergencies you don't need to do anything for another ten years.
