I think your rightI think the sightings in chiswick were of someone who looked very much like the person but reports came in about northolt.Or the times are wrong Anyway,atleast he was not as dangerous as the escapee from chester prison who is a murderer unlike our one who by the sounds of reorts could have been given a cuppa of earl grey and a sticky bun in chiswick house grounds by one of our locals. If the cafe is open on a sat morning

It takes at least an hour to cycle or 3 hours to walk between Chiswick Mall,  where the guy was supposed to have been seen at around 10.15, and the canal at Northolt where he was caught at around 10.45. Something doesn’t add up. The sightings around Chiswick could have been mistaken, yet they attracted hundreds of police, though they must already have had some information to lead a small group of plain cloths police to the canal bridge at Northolt.

I think some of the media report things in a bad way. Or did the met put the wrong or confusing statement out Sky were showing pictures and film of police in chiswick and having chiswick captions on the screen while stating he had been arrested on a canal tow path riding a bike after reports of sightings,but did not mention northolt. Robin, it was me who reported a lack of police in the area at around 10.30am. My walk took in the river by Chiswick Mall as well and any officers you saw had all gone by that time.To get to Northolt by foot or on a stolen bike Daniel Khalife must have been long gone. As far as I can see from the reports, nobody actually saw him in Chiswick on Saturday.

They were disguised as gigantic dogs, so no-one noticed them, except for the one that was obviously fake because it was on a lead outside the cafe.

Yes they did. And in answer to someone who mentioned that there were no police in Chiswick House grounds, that's because they were all standing around at the end of Pumping Station Road (must have been a dozen, doing nothing) and at the Church St. end of Chiswick Mall (ditto). Now the police have taken refuge in secrecy by saying that they cannot give out any retrospective operational details. So we will never know

Chiswick is taking some stick on Twitter, “Daniel Khalife walking back into HMP Wandsworth kitchens with an unprecedented knowledge of artisanal baking after spending 3 days in Chiswick”. The fact that he was captured on a bike made me laugh too.

"Police originally said Mr Khalife was held in the Chiswick area" Sounds like the MET need a new PR officer. Its only taken over half a day to get the correct facts out to the media who reported all day as chiswick.

What a shame he couldn't have nicked a BMW R75 as in the Great Escape. So much more impactive when the story was reported and then made into a movie.PSDon't tell anyone but the bike McQueen rode was a British Triumph made to look like a German job.

Are you sure? I was in and around Chiswick House shortly after the reported time of the arrest and didn't see a single police officer.

Ive a hunch that he was in richmond area thursday night but not in the park, and when they started searching the park like last night in chiswick with helicopters he doubled back. Possibly along the tow path back to kew. Just a hunch given the days he has been on the run
