London Landmark at Piccadilly will be Mosque

Permission has just been granted to turn well known London landmark the Trocadero into a mosque.

They're also in Bedford, Lowestoft, Leicester, Ipswich, Oxford, Chesterton, Wetherby, Cheltenham, Spalding, Peterborough, Chichester, Haverhill, Gillingham, and Cambridge - plus one in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland, so they seem to be popular and well frequented.

If you look at the planning applications and the planning application to Berwick street it is down as a mosque or in Berwick street the planning application is Dow as "extension to third floor mosque" Looking at it it could have been a fish and chip shop. Better let Westminster council know it's listed it wrong. Should be extension to third room prayer room Maybe it's the perception of what a mosque should look like rather than what a mosque can be,look like or what constitutes using the word mosque It's a mosque

I was quoting the Evening Standard quoting plans approved by the Westminster City Council.  Gay Muslims need all the help and support they can get.  Wouldn’t it be good if this new centre offered just that?

It is indicative of the degradation of a certain section of the press (The Sun, The Mail, The Telegraph and The Express) that they misreport this story to get clicks by winding up gullible idiots yet ignore a far more important story in this area.The proliferation of candy stores around Soho and Piccadilly which quickly fold, rates unpaid are openly operating as part of a broader criminal enterprise and there is little the authorities can do about it. Only Private Eye has really done this shocking issue any justice.

“LGBTQ+ talks” would seem unlikely in such a place. Sadly same sex relationships are still criminalised in many Muslim countries, some can even impose the death penalty.

Why on Earth shouldn’t Muslims have a prayer space in the area?  And what kind of ‘trouble ahead’?  I’d see the new mosque/prayer space as something London would have good cause to be proud of.  It would be handy for the thousands of Muslim tourists who flock to the area and be out of sight and of no concern to the rest of us.This little video is interesting.https://twitter.com/azizfndn/status/1681334556710797314?s=61

‘According to plans approved by Westminster City Council, the three-storey place of worship on Rupert Street will host prayers, “interfaith meetings” and “LGBTQ+ talks” among other weekly activities.’Perhaps they should also include table dances and sauna baths, you know, to maintain the character of the area, diversity and all that.

To place a mosque structure incorporating three storeys, capable of holding 400 Muslim worshippers in a well loved building in the heart of the city used by revellers, theatre goers and tourists would alter completely the culture of the area.Obviously the mayor is unlikely to veto such a change.London has plenty of mosques already, and they are spread evenly throughout the city.I can only foresee trouble ahead if this plan were to go through.

Are you being thick on purpose? A room in an airport that Christians, Muslims or Jews can pray in doesn't make it a Church, Mosque or Synagogue.
