When the church was converted to flats the Vicarage garden was heavily reduced in size with new houses built on the released land. To my mind this meant that for such an imposing building the remaining garden was too small, restricting its appeal. When the Vicarage was being refurbished they dug out the basement which up until then had been either much smaller or possibly even non-existent. I'm not surprised if it flooded - I think there was a ramp for underground vehicle access. Locals were always fascinated by who might be living there, but the occupants seemed to have a penchant for big high-end cars, always in black. It will be interesting to see how the house sells - good luck to the agents, it will need a very special buyer.
