Motorbike noise from A4 this morning

Can anyone else hear it? Sounds like a racetrack in operation somewhere between Chiswick Roundabout and Sutton Court Road.

With ya there! Miss my bike and the lifestyle that came with it - rallies, friends, outings.... Living here, I can't afford transport. Suddenly to go and see my own mother takes an entire day, not a couple of hours after work, so visting family has become a rarity. Just to be able to get out of London once in a while...

As suggested by Carl earlier, the Ace Cafe is well worth a visit (even for non-motorcyclists and non-petrolheads) given the 50's, 60's and 70's memorabilia (plus old photographs on the walls) and the breakfast is terrific as well.It was notorious in the 60's for being the start point of an illegal timed race looping from the Ace around the Staples Corner roundabout, back along the NCRd to the Hanger Lane roundabout and back to the Ace, ideally before the same record on the juke box had finished.

Apart from the years 69 to 94 as the Ace cafe became a tyre fitting  garage before being returned to us in 1994.Happy days.

Started at Chelsea Bridge usually around 11pm and ride out to M4's Heston Services. Many a record has been broken for that 12 mile journey.

Ignorance befalls the brainwashed Chiswick mindset. Biking is all about freedom, the sound of the bikes, especially your V twin Ducati's even V4's now, R1's sound like two wheeled V8's ; looking after your bike; and the camaraderie with other bikers is something those ignorant & often arrogant to biking should just let people enjoy themselves. Pop to the Ace Cafe, on the old north circular road and experience the different bikes and appreciate someone else enjoyment - not everybody's into high street shopping, or stuck on their devices all day, moaning in forums about how others are having a fun time!

yea, and all that slave Labour mining for battery components in Africa, Asia, etc... yet where are the lefty woke brigade on this? Mining this cobalt stuff and other things we don't know about, is far more damaging to the environment than mining & extracting fossil fuel from the planet!

Was this around 11 to 11.30 this morning? Probably 'The Slow Boys' on their May Day run from outside the Honda Garage in Chiswick to Hastings. Very nice bunch of people just out for a ride and having fun.

back in the 90's chelsea bridge to heston services on a friday night. used to be at lot of bikes making a load of noise along the A4 in hammersmith, then onto the M4 to the services a race basically and i could here them as i lived on king street, w6 in them days.

In the middle 70s to well into the 80s, every Friday evening a large group of bikers used to congregate inside the pub opposite the Chiswick Tower, make a hell of a din coming & going; then proceed onwards to their next port of call.From memory, they were dubbed Hells Angels, but never caused anyone any bother.

They used to start  at Scotch Corner and race to the Severn Crossing. Cars and bikes. Rhankfully Gatso and SPECS cameras have largely stopped this nonsense.

yeah - happens quite often - I think it's semi-organised - they start at the lights with Sutton Court Road, and race to who knows where ...
