Julian, yes that is shift work, but some posters mention you couldn't work a 12 hour day, well you can in a lot of industry's and its not that hard even in engineering.Straying off topic a bit. One company left The Hounslow Borough, from a six floor building to a three floor building outside of the greater London area. Its kept all of its staff, some located in the new building and a good percentage working from home.Apart from benefits to the company for moving to the new location, they have also found that productivity has increased and their staff are a lot happier. So if one company can do it, why is it so hard for others. But if the retail and service industry decided to implement a four day week, they would have to run a form of shift work to accommodate the missing days that the public would expect them to be open. How they would work the overlap is down to each individual company, as there's not eight days a week to make it easy.It could even create extra employment for some industry's, unless they stretch their existing staff thinner on the ground.
