Paperchase - Closing Down

Does anyone know why ?

Was taken over after pandemic and again last august and given dificult times started to open new stores last october onwards. Most likely a bad desision by the top.

Paperchase is another unfortunate victim of the reduction in high street shopping,  and the move to online.

I loved walking round it especially when I had no family responsibilities but it was full of things I didn't need (or didn't know I needed).  It's always a sad to see jobs go and choice diminish.  Writing paper and envelopes were so boringly bland and boring and Basildon Bond before Paperchase - they were huge pioneers brightening up the market.

When I spoke to staff yesterday they hadn’t found jobs. Shame they were always helpful . And good for bits and pieces for children

That's a shame. I hope the staff find new and better jobs! Maybe it'll become a coffee shop? Chiswick is in sore need of a coffee shop.

I'll miss them, but only really for Christmas cards and a few small over-priced trinkets. It always puzzled me how they survived.
