Final CS9 Implementation
Walking along the high street today I could see the mark-ups for the altered temporary cycle way. It looks like it will be a large amount of work, lots of utilities, drainage, and street furniture to be moved. Also, I presume the road will have to be resurfaced to account for a change in camber? What I couldn’t figure out is why is this still a temporary scheme? Why is this work not implementation of the fully approved CS9 design? The only thing I can think of is the Hounslow council have not got the money to implement the full CS9 design? If Hounslow started the CS9 implementation, would they have to implement the whole scheme, and this allows them to do it piecemeal?Or is this just a delaying tactic and these temporary changes will not be implemented? If they hadn’t proposed the temporary changes, would they have had to rip out the current changes after a certain period?Personally, I think they should bite the bullet and get on with the full CS9 implementation. I don’t like the temporary solution. The sooner CS9 is in, the sooner everyone will get used to it.
