The Flower Market newly plantedbeds

I have to give a big thumbs up to the lovely new planting along CHR which really has made a huge difference along this stretch so well done to everyone involved.  Once these changes are made it encourages people to use these spaces and take pleasure from walking by or sitting for a few minutes. I regularly sit with a friend on the seats near the E3 bus stop on TGT and look at the gorgeous planting there.

Yes, it really has improved the area.

Ditto.  Nice to see that someone is highlighting some good local news!

I'm not sure but isn't true that Abundance only take on their Horticultural work on various sites for a maximum of 2 years, thereafter they're sadly not maintained  ? I'm happy to be corrected if that's not true, but certainly Devonshire Road, a triangular plot on Heathfield Terrace, Wildflower Meadows on Turnham Green appear to look unloved ☹

Happy to correct the usual inaccurate and spiteful rubbish.

Karen Liebreich ● 1819d

I'm sure Loraine that if you offered to to a bit of volunteering for Abundance they would be very happy for you to help maintain these bed etc.

👍

>>I'm not sure<<...was probably the point at which you should have stopped for a quick fact-check.

I saw the volunteers planting on the day. Their hard graft has paid off. Well done.

Hi Helen, I'm a regular volunteer for the Turnham Green monthly litter pick and also will be helping out this Saturday  for Friends of Turnham Green. Regards Loraine

Then you should be well aware that it is the Friends of Turnham Green that maintain the wildflower meadow that you complain about.

Karen Liebreich ● 1818d

Karen, with respect I've only recently joined FOTG, however to correct you I am not / was not complaining, merely asking a question because I'd been told that Abundance took on planting and subsequent maintenancefor a 2 year period, but with the caveat of asking to be corrected,  if that was inaccurate, why are you being so aggresively defensive  ? Anyway Karen, perhaps this is a case of least said soonest mended. Regards Loraine

Well done for litter picking Loraine!!I am sure the numerous Abundance London flower beds dotted throughout Chiswick quite often need litter picking as well.

Jonathan Simpson ● 1817d

Oh Loraine you really make me laugh out loud with your comments:'I'm not sure but'...'I've been told'....'asking to be corrected'...'if that was inaccurate'...'least said soonest mended'!  It seems to me that you're never really on firm ground (unless you are litter picking) and really what you are doing is trying to make insinuations regarding Abundance and their great and uplifting work in Chiswick.  Good luck with the litter picking you deserve a medal.

And lots of posters on here make me laugh as well, when they misinterpret (perhaps deliberately) honest posts. Ah well,as is often said "now't as queer as folk"

Loraine Pemberton ● 1817d

Jonathan Thanks and yes we do

Does litter picking flower beds come under the remit of those planting, when tidying and pruning and so on.  Still thank goodness for volunteers, they're often the unsung, un-named heroes, My daughter litter picks with her young children on the way to school. Makes me so proud.  She says she get some odd looks, probably from the people who dropped the litter.
