That’s some shocking story which happened in Richmond Park more attempted murder than a mugging. If they catch the ##### the book should be thrown at them.

Can't see it on the CW4 home page - can you post a link to the story ?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-58835188I am not wholly convinced about all the details.
Will Watson ● 1842d
The story is on the front page about five items down as I write. Will, why do you question the details of what happened? It looks on the face of it that this was a targeted robbery because the victim had such an expensive bike.
Felicity Caborn ● 1842d
Will perhaps suspects that the perpetrators weren't robbers but OneChiswick vigilantes!
Robert Fish ● 1842d
"Will, why do you question the details of what happened?"100m is a heck of a long way to be dragged along the ground hanging onto a bike.
Shocking thing to happen in somewhere as civilised as Richmond Park.
Susan Kelly ● 1842d
Nowhere is safe anymore.
Janice Evans ● 1842d
Think you have to explain that one in more context as thats a very open responce How do you define anywhere as being safe unless measures in place to protect
Julian Pavey ● 1842d
Or indeed with an S
Your right, I mean you cannot think one specific place is safe as terrible things happen everywhere.
Having watch the programme about Rachel Nikel on Wimbledon Commonand that was some time ago now, she thought she would be safe there andlook what happen during the day with lots of people around. Absolutelydreadful.
Correct spelling of nam Nickell.
Will may be wondering why the robbers drove into a bike they intended to steal, risking mashing it, and maybe would like a bit more info on how they carried the bike away on motor bikes. Just a more complete story
stephen gould ● 1842d
It was the 2nd robbery, see sky news.
Nicholas Beard ● 1842d
'watched' Janice, 'watched'Why do you persist in saving yourself from having to type a couple of extra characters?'happened' as wellThat's two examples in one short entry with plenty more before now.
Anne England ● 1842d
Nowhere is 'safe' when there are violent and murderous criminals wandering about. The best you can say about areas like Richmond Park is that they are 'generally' safe.
Colin Jordan ● 1841d
Anne, get a life I do a lot of texts and short words are used, look it up on google 'text talk' I send hundreds a week and not going to worry about switching back just to post on here for your sake.
Janice Evans ● 1841d
Not sure I understand why people are sceptical about this. Some of the details are a bit odd but a person's memory isn't always totally reliable when something traumatic happens to them. There were two separate incidents around this time so there is no question of this being a fabrication.
Paul Corcoran ● 1840d
Surprised to see some scepticism about this crime. Somebody earlier queried how the robbers would have got away with the bicycle on a motorbike. See below for how this happens. Picture is from the Richmond Park area and was originally posted on Twitter. https://twitter.com/dharrison39/status/1447637408095297538?s=12

3 attacks now, police think their operating from Roehampton estate.
Paul Brown ● 1839d
Not hard to spot them, although I suppose there are legitimate reasons for carrying a bike on a motor bike, would this attract the attention of a passing park police car ?
Maggie Dodge ● 1839d
Very rare Police cars are these days.
Many people wanted a police service and not a police force so we mayhave more plain clothes officers around, just a thought.
