water pressure in grove park question

My water pipes are suddenly making lots of noise.Anyone else got the same problem?I've just read that an increase inincoming water pressure might be to blame.My boiler says that my water pressure is 2.2 bar, and I've read that it shouldn't be higher than 1.5.I've also read that there's probably something on my water pipe that I can use to reduce the incoming pressure. So I'm going to look into that.But I'm just asking if anyone else has noticed a similar problem...that would help with the attribution to external water pressure.

Simon, if it aids in your diagnostics, where I am in Grove Park water pressure actually seems to be quite low at the moment, manifesting itself mostly when watering the  garden as I did yesterday.  Noisy pipes however are not a problem. Do you have a gate valve on your incoming water pipe? If so it should be possible to make an adjustment there to see if it  has any effect.

Your boiler pressure gauge is your heating system pressure not the mains water.  When the boiler has been running the pressure on the gauge increases.

Ok, thanks Peter, that's interesting.So my 2.2 bar probably means nothing. Hmm. Back to square one. Perhaps I need a plumber.The guy who installed all the pipes was very good but has disappeared back to Romania, I believe.

The pressure of your heating system should probably be around 1.0 to 1.5.At least that's how the chap who services mine always leaves it.
