Recommendations for Nursing/Care Homes between Chertsey and Leigh-on-Sea

Hi all, please may I ask that if you have any personal experience good or bad of the above I would be extremely grateful to receive information please. Sadly, the ‘home’ will also need to be able to provide palliative care, as although not so obviously required immediately it will be as the condition worsens. Joy, to go have a look at Barchester homes.  There is one in Isleworth which some years ago had an excellent reputation.My mother was in a new one in Camberley just as the pandemic started.  She was blind and near deaf as well as being a life long vegetarian.  The care and communication was good and though it didn’t work for my mother, I saw the care the staff took to make sure those who could use technology to keep up communication with family and friends and to do everything they could to keep everyone happy.  For example there was an elderly man who had been a florist and the home bought him flowers from which he made a posy for everyone.  On another occasion, as we arrived to see my mother we saw 2 donkeys getting in the lift to go upstairs to visit.Sadly my mother only lasted 6 months and was very distressed when no family or friends could visit.  This was not the fault of the care home, just circumstances.Nothing can be guaranteed and everything is down to the management and the staff themselves.  I do recommend Barchester homes but you must list your requirements and make time to visit all of them in your specific area.Sad times and I wish you all the best.
