Grove Park Terrace PCN

Can anyone shine any light on me getting a PCN for the offence of driving to my doctors surgery a few weeks ago. I had a 9am appointment So drove from Sutton Court Road into Falconberg Road then into Grove Park Terrace. I've not been to the surgery in almost 18 months so was amazed to get the PCN with three pictures of my car driving towards the surgery.Do i have any grounds for appeal and how long has this camera been in the area? More importantly do they not know there is a busy surgery in that road?

Camera has been there for ages. It is a school street. If you got the PCN during the school holidays you can appeal. During school terms you have to go via Fauconberg, Gordon and up St Mary's to get to your surgery

Stephen, below is the sign that you missed.  There are two of these either side of Grove Park Terrace at the junction with Burnaby Gardens, and at 9 a.m. you are right in the middle of the morning period when motor vehicles are banned at the start of the school day.  I've looked at the signs in connection with a similar PCN last month, and they are quite clearly visible.  I don't think you have any viable defence, and I suggest you pay up; hopefully the discounted rate of £65 is still available. If you think there are special reasons why you should be let off, write to me at the address that Richard G quoted, giving me the PCN number and the number of your car.

This is following up another thread on School Streets from several months ago when the nature of the (then new) signage was under discussion.
The council seemed (and still seem) unsure about how to proceed on this - specifically how to indicate when the traffic restriction is active, both in respect of the time of the day and also term times. Seemingly it was too difficult to convey this information in legally-approved signage. At the time I pointed out that there were off-the-shelf solutions available like this example where the orange lights flash when the zone is in operation. In fact I noticed the other day just such a sign in operation in a Grove Park street though I can't remember where;  possibly Burlington Lane? With amendments as required, I can't see why this can't be the standard type of sign for all School Streets as it is much less likely to be missed.....

With amendments as required, I can't see why this can't be the standard type of sign for all School Streets as it is much less likely to be missed..That's assuming of course that the object of the exercise is to keep children safe and not just create a revenue stream.
