Hoisted by his own petard

When the Health secretary fell victim to covid the PM intended to work from Downing street under the new Workplace pilot scheme; a logical move considering his importance to the country, and the fact that his immunity system, having previously contacted covid offered virtually no risk to anyone.However, Sir Keir led the way in condemning Boris, quoting that old chestnut " Do as I say, not as I do", and forced his hand in continuing his work in isolation.How ironic then, that Sir Keir has no option now but to go into isolation himself, rather than opt for the Workplace pilot scheme which is open to mportant people.

Almost every sentence is inaccurate, Denis.The workplace testing scheme pilot is working with large organisations like the border force and network rail, it isn’t targeted at ‘important people’.The announcement about the Prime Minister’s and the Chancellor’s plans to participate was made on Sunday morning. Kier Starmer didn’t lead the condemnation, that came from journalists, including the editor of The Sun, and ordinary people on social media. There’s a reasonable argument that the Prime Minister should continue to work from Downing Street but he and his office failed to make that argument (because they’re incompetent) so instead they had to U-turn in a matter of hours about the pilot plan.Literally nothing to do with Kier Starmer and everything to do with poor judgment at number 10.
