Thief operating on high road

It’s an old scam and I almost got caught by it five minutes ago. A woman in a face mask came to my table outside cafe Nero and showed me a map, asking me something very quietly. I was confused and asked her to speak up a couple of times before I realised what she as going on. She’d placed the map over my phone and was carefully sliding it into her fingers while it was obscured. I suddenly remembered the scam and pulled the map up, to find my phone in her fingers. I grabbed it back and she ran off. She was in her 30s, from overseas, very pale and with dark hair in a ponytail. Watch out for this trick.

Very sensible Susan. To do so is just asking for trouble. "She was in her 30s, from overseas". Isle of Wight?

I doubt if she was from the Isle of Wight as Henry probably wouldn’t have been able to tell unless people from there have a distinct accent.
