District line/Piccadilly line

Were you like me one of approximately 300 people stuck on the District Line yesterday . At around 12 Noon Wednesday 14th for over 20 minutes before the train moved off to Stanford Brook Station  when everyone had to get off as the train was “defective” . At Turnham Green we were originally told there was a problem up the line towards Earls Court. The District Line And The Piccadilly Line Controllers must have been aware of the problem .so the treatment of those waiting at Turnham Green was a disgrace. This is happening all too often with the  seeming refusal of the Piccadilly Line Controllers allowing their trains to stop to relieve the problem of poor service on the District Line.

Telling you that the train was defective was a fib.  We arrived just after 12noon and a train pulled in almost immediately.  We sat for 10 minutes when they announced that a Piccadilly line train would stop.  Most people disembarked and a near empty train came.  As we moved to Hammersmith we counted 5 standing District line trains - an announcement told us that there were signal problems and we should stay on to Earls Court.  In fact we altered our route to Covent Garden and walked to Aldwich from there arriving only 5 minutes late for our meeting.We thought we were well looked after with announcements being made to tell us what had happened and how to go without the District line.

I started always looking at my watch when the announcement came saying that there was a good service!
