Kids swimming lessons

During half term one of the parents offered to teach the schoolchildren how to swim.The schoolchildren hadnt been in the water for two years due to the pandemic.some Numpties in the park rd area complained about the noise the excited kids were making and the sessions got cancelled.you would think that because of the circumstances the kids have been through these last 2 years that people would do anything that they could to help rather than scuppering them enjoying themselves for once.I just hope Karma works its way

Two million children have missed out on swimming this year.Swimming is compulsory in the national curriculum.  240,000 won't be able to swim the 25m (one width) when they leave primary school. Swimming is a life skill and the requirement here in the UK is only achieving that 25m and some water skills -ie  how to stay safe in and around water in primary school. In Australia it is 50m by age 12.https://www.swimming.org/schools/swimming-national-curriculum/Surely it is in all our interests that all our children learn how to swim?

Swimming used to be my only exercise as a child, having disabled Mumand Dad running a business we were never in activities as a family.
