Bruce, as it happens the interim assessment of the traffic schemes has just been published. The independent consultants, Steer, reported on traffic trends separately for three areas of Chiswick in Hounslow: north and south of the High Road and south of the A4. They used a mixture of traffic counts and GPS data and compared four weeks in Jan-Feb with four weeks in Oct-Sep, so before all of the South Chiswick restrictions came in.Here is their summary:_______________There appears to have been a reduction in the number of local trips using roads in the area north of Chiswick High Road that is more significant than the borough-wide trend. End to end trips have become more direct within the area north of Chiswick High Road, this is especially apparent for local trips. There has been a significant decrease in the number of local vehicle trips using roads in the area south of Chiswick High Road, which is bigger than the fall in through trips. Average end-to-end trip speeds for local trips using roads in the area south of Chiswick High Road appear to have increased more than the borough-wide average. Similarly, local trips using roads in the area appear to have become slightly more direct on average.Traffic flows on Wellesley Road, Stile Hill Gardens and Harvard Hill have been significantly reduced due to the introduction of the schemes. In the area around Wellesley Road, there has been a very large drop in the number of through trips using these roads. In the area around Harvard Hill the drop in through trips is exceeded by the drop in local trips. Thames Road and Strand-on-the-Green have experienced a significant increase in vehicle flows which may be partially linked to the Harvard Hill scheme causing traffic to find alternative routes. Generally, trips using roads in the area have become less direct, except for local trips using roads in the area near Harvard Hill. Traffic on Dan Mason Drive has significant reduced, with a smaller decrease also seen on The Promenade. It does not appear that nearby roads have seen increases in flows due to displaced traffic._________So in short, except for in Strand on the Green, the number of trips in Chiswick has reduced beyond that seen in the rest of the borough, and those trips have on the whole become more direct.https://lbhounslow.sharepoint.com/:b:/s/InternetLinks/cc/EWFs8hGab6RDjECqo-0DKaUB7DenZFY127MUQiUO1zTKOQ?e=Dc38Ay
