It looks like the Tory lost 25,000 votes to the LDs, if you assume most UKIP votes went to the Tories. Squeezed the Labour vote as well. Clever tactics, but no cigar.

I’m a bit over the Lib Dems. And this is from someone who still rates Nick Clegg and thought the Coalition Government had huge legitimacy and did quite a lot of good. Ed Davey is a good person and smart - but not inspiring to the electorate and isn’t getting the cut through. I suspect the Greens are moving into third party status which will make them the main opposition in many areas in time. And it isn’t the policies / manifesto….although the world is moving towards their views rather than them moving to become more inclusive. I think it is their leadership which is the main differentiator.

I'm Labour, so not much time for LDs but this was quite an achievement

Let's just call them the Liberals. They lost the right to be called Liberal Democrats when their headmistress type leader, who lost her seat, decided that when she was PM (yes) she'd bin the once in a lifetime vote to leave the EU.

I saw her in the Eurostar waiting room (assume she was headed to Brussels) and wanted to tell her I thought it was a mistake - but chickened out :-)You can't out-UKIP UKIP, especially if you're the Lib Dems who are supposed to be the nice guys.

I was quite drawn to the Lib-Dems at the time as soon as she said that we thought oh no you have shut out supporters, even remainers we knew lost interest,
Good to see them gaining supporters again anyhow.
