Door recommendation

Hi, looking to replace our front door. Any recommendations of any companies who would be reliable and fit a good solid secure front door? Thank you all.

We had a look at The London Door Company - but pretty shocked by the price - was about £10K from memory.  https://www.londondoor.co.uk/But our neighbours got one, and looked great!Would be interested to know how much people spend on a new door :-)

We had a quote from Banham a few years ago for roughly £2000 plus locks.

I was looking through the Howdens catalogue last week and they a number of appropriate hardwood doors.They only deal with the trade so if you find a builder who can purchase the door and fit it, the cost should be better than the big boys.

I was a little wide of the mark. Quotes were £4.5k to £6k excluding VAT, but after a 20% Black Friday discount (it was after BF and they’d extended it), which suggests they’ll reduce any quote by 20% if you ask for it. It was for door + frame and also included encapsulating existing stained glass or providing new ones. Included locks but not keyless / facial recognition :-) Bloody nice doors though. It took us to mid 40s to buy our first house, so investing in a front door feels quite grown up :-)

We ordered front and back doors from We do Doors who seem to be quite reasonable but they told us a minimum of 12 weeks from order dare to fit. However our end of May delivery date has now been delayed to towards end of June.
