I do worry about this calling the Labour party the party of the metropolitan elite, certainly does not apply to me or the people I associate with I can tell you.The hangover of the little Englander Brexit toothless and tattooed brigade hung heavy over Hartlepool, to believe an acknowledged liar and philanderer like Johnson is anywhere near on their wavelength is laughable. The Tories have obviously gained from the vaccination programme - which let's face it isn't down to them - it's down to the scientists and NHS and volunteers, that is to overlook the colossal and costly balls-up that the Tories made prior to that, and to forget it, go figure. I personally like Keir Starmer, but he shows his lawyerly credentials, and people seem to prefer a flamboyant, rambling idiot who looks like an apology for Worzel Gummidge, it is style over substance as you can see if you watch PMQs. However, these things tend to be cyclical, and Johnson's Tories will get cocky and think that they are untouchable. I remember when Neil Kinnock got defeated and we were all so depressed having worked our socks off, that was another really low point and that's leaving aside the Michael Foot election, Labour came back and they will again, they've had a boot up the backside, now is the time to learn from that and to be honest both nationally and locally, and to win because they are the best party not because the Tories have shot themselves in both feet.
