Cyclists please be have some respect

Lots of traffic today in Chiswick as many people are getting away from the Bank Holiday Weekend.... I wish that some cyclists have some respect for other people on the road, there is just no need to swear and throw nasty comments at other road users and pedestrians. Sometimes we just don't see you, we dont narrow your lane deliberately, sometimes we have a motorbike speeding past on the right side of us! We all just want to get from A to B happily, please dont feel like cars hate you, we dont!

Totally agree.  I’m a car and  bike rider and get annoyed by the actions of cyclists. They need to realise they have responsibility for something that can injure others.  Jumping or  ignoring traffic lights is inexcusable.Don’t even get me started on electric scooters!!

It’s the general attitude of some cyclists that I just find abhorrent! I saw a cyclist argue with a van driver shouting at him to watch his mirrors, only for the driver say that he couldn’t see him. I’m sorry, if your cycling you have to take the attitude that you are not a car, some cars don’t even see each other! Stay safe for your own sakes!

I cycle regularly too. Grove Park is a mess for cycling. CHR cycle (nee bus) lane, to be avoided at all costs as it’s a dangerous folly.

However, if they're were to make the same highly personal, vicious, bullying and untruthful comments about someone much less resilient I can only wonder how that person would feel and how it would affect them  ?As you're clearly aware systematic bullying can result in horrible consequences, the thing with a Bully is that they're incapable of empathy and accepting any opinion that doesn't mirror their own tunnel visioned views.I've frequently posted on here that I'm not against cyclists, just those who break the law. I'm also against motorists who break the law. Something the DD and a couple of others choose to forget. Happily, the vast majority of Forum contributors are open minded, intelligent and can see both sides of this issue regarding LTN's and C9.Regards Loraine

My agenda is simply to get you to give a clear answer the question(s) I asked, one of which was:"Hypothetically, if the retention of LTNs was put to a vote, would you be willing to accept the outcome?"I assume that if the above happened i.e. there was a vote, and the result of the vote was to retain LTNs you would accept this outcome as you say you believe in Democracy. Is my assumption correct?
