More intrigue

I have received a text message saying that my parcel has not been delivered because the fee has not been paid. If I do not pay the fee the parcel will be sent back to the sender.I have no knowledge of any parcels due to arrive!

Rima sounds like a Scam that's going round.  There are text messages being sent pretending to be from the Royal Mail,  its all a bid to get people to enter their details for fraudsters.

Bartleby?

Brian Coyle ● 2005d

Yes. Right. Do not reply and delete. If it’s genuine the sender can pay the fee!

Sometimes it's genuine. My vet quite often gets the postage wrong.

Claire Moran ● 2005d

It is most likely a scam.  Can you post the link they've asked you to pay the fee on?

Ed Saper ● 2005d

Yes. https://post-office-support.com

Rima Jones ● 2005d

Definitely a scam. You’d be asked to go to royalmail.com to pay any legitimate fees.

There are loads of scams at the moment.  We've just had one about our TV Licence. There are masses of different ones detailed on the Royal Mail website.https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/apr/29/tell-us-have-you-fallen-victim-to-a-delivery-scam

Oh dear, I thought that I might be getting somewhere with this. A surprise parcel from my much loved extraordinary daughter and her two children who travel between NL and Spain ?But it seems that I don’t have to go to the delivery office when it’s open and pay whatever the postage is. Sigh.I can’t be the only one who is having trouble with this! Are the police aware? Thanks for your efforts x

Thanks Philippa. Whatever next? !

I've had the same thing twice. Scam, just delete and don't click on the links

Yup, definitely a scam. Forward any new ones to 7726, this is a free text service and they will investigate the originating number, so make sure you make a note of it as the follow up text will ask you to confirm this. I receive weird and wonderful scams each week, these people are relentless!

I know it's a bit controversial, even taboo to mention like 'the menopause' in British society, but If you're of a situation where memory loss or related is an issue then a scam may not be scam.
