Rena Salmon

I wonder if anyone recalls the case of Rena Salmon who shot her husband's pregnant lover dead at a beauty salon on Chiswick High Road in 2002? The man who defended her at the Old Bailey, Patrick Curran QC, died of cancer On March 16. Rena Salmon served 14 years and was released in 2016 suffering from cancer herself. She was still alive in 2017.

I do remember that - very sad case - why do you ask?

James Tickell ● 2013d

Well, what happened? Why in Chiswick? What was the name of beauty salon? Is Rena Salmon still alive?

Miss Stewart was shot in her own Salon, she was the couples neighbour, then the wife found out about the affair and plan to shoot her, don't thinkshe intended to kill her,

Janice Evans ● 2012d

Don’t leave us hanging, Janice! Who were the cat ladies of Linden Gardens? Please tell me they didn’t harm cats. Or even kill people?

Kerry Chandler ● 2012d

I would think that information about the case would be easy enough to find on google.I think that she fully intended to kill the beautician, a 'friend' who was having an affair with her husband and by whom she (Miss Stewart) was also expecting a child.

Indeed you can find everything on Google inc more recent press news on Ms Salmon. Took me about a minute to find.

Oh God, I was thinking early last century. That’s horrible.

Kerry Chandler ● 2012d

Robin was asking the name of the beauty salon, don't think that is mention.

Janice Evans ● 2012d

Red Chat?

Karen Foster ● 2012d

Kerry, both these cases are fairly recent, and makes me wonder how some cannot cope or stay in control of a situation, jealously is often the reason.

Was on the stretch between the Old Cinema and The Roebuck. I recall it shut down, but another reopened on the site. Can’t remember names.

Yes it was Red Chat and I was walking along to a hair appointment at the Salon opposite. A nice sunny day but at the junction of TGT and CHR Police Cars with flashing lights were closing all the roads off.Police were shouting at us to get back against the wall next to Fudges. When we asked why we were told that there was a woman with a gun.So we were all huddled together when an air ambulance arrived on the common but it was too late. Lorna had already died.My daughter used to go to Red Chat and was devastated when she heard the news.”Lorna was a really lovely lady and a good friend.”

Rima Jones ● 2012d

'Lorna was a really lovely lady and a good friend.'I don't suppose Rena found that to be the case.

Anne England ● 2012d

Don't know when it was Red Chat, but it was Equilibrium at the time of the murder

The Beauty Salon was called EquilibriumRena Salmon, 43, killed Lorna Stewart, 36, by shooting her twice with a double- barrelled shotgun at her beauty salon. You can read about it on Google and this website athttp://www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?section=info&page=concrime845renasalmon.htm

Bina Pandit ● 2011d
