covid-secure cabs

I shall be self-isolating from tomorrow and will need to travel to Charing X early on Monday, by cab. I rarely use cabs, but on recommendation from Forum users, I have just tried Ibis.  They say they can't do 'Covid-safe, or payment by card. In the past I've used Grove Park cars, but last year, going to Ch X, I was told to pay cash, which involved a lot of passing notes and getting grubby change, so not again. I just looked at the premises of City Green, across the road at Fromows Corner, but they seem to have closed. Any suggestions?

Isn't anybody using the bookable black cabs?  I thought they were supposed to be catching up/had caught up with technology now.

If you can afford to use a Black Cab they're great.  However as they charge by the minute rather than the distance travelled, it makes them considerably more expensive.  For example a black cab from Richmond to my home in Hartington Rd now has to travel up the A316, right the way up to either Staveley Rd or if shut for the school, on up towards Burlington La.  As traffic quite likely during rush hours more expensive than mini cab or uber, although they will face extra mileage making them dearer too!  Good news for all but the wealthy or fleet or foot!

My understanding is that if you are self-isolating them you are not supposed to be taking taxis at all.

If you have a hospital appointment face to face a taxi is better than public transport. Just take the necessary personal precautions. The drivers wear masks.
