new chiswick pool

I have just read with horror the new swimming timetable of the Chiswick  pool. Whereas before, there was lane swimming every night, now there are just  2 slots  for 1 hour. It seems the pool has been taken over by clubs which is unfair to residents. This is unacceptable. There will be a lot of anger.

Surely some of those swimming club swimmers are local residents?

I have already alerted a councillor to the fact that the timetable has a lot of time allotted to Swim School sessions, with much reduced lane swimming, other than early morning which is not much use to us oldies. There used to be a popular lane swim at 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, after people had done whatever weekend tasks they had been given by their partners. Though it does not affect me, there is no General Swim sessions which is when local families can have fun and introduce little ones to the water. One wonders who drew up the timetable and who they liaised with.

When does the pool reopen please? Also, do we know if they will simply reinstate direct debits as (in my case) they stopped taking monthly payments some time back.

Jim, I received an e-mail saying my direct debit has been reinstated.Unfortunately I can't find it now but I seem to remember they will not start taking payments straightaway.I think you need to get on to Lampton Leisure to see why you haven't been updated.I have made a booking for next week so yes it is open.

Have tried to book a lane swim at Chiswick and it says nothing available even though I have said "any session" upto end of May, but have got one at Brentford next week, so not sure what is happening at Chiswick

I've messaged Lampton so let's see what happens....
