I refer to the worrying article on the homepage regarding the arrest of a 19 year old male for possession of two sub machine guns in Chiswick. Seems the times really are a changin'.

Machine pistols. I fired one once, you need to aim at a large barn door.

That makes it an even bigger worry.

Great to the see the Police stepping in and making an arrest.Time was when the only Chiswick resident who claimed to know how to fire one of these guns was nonagenarian and Free Woman of the borough, Pat Davies.

Good one Sam. Another one for the notable former residents list? Where did she live?

Oh dear. Sorry. I’ve just realised that the dear Bletchley Girl is still very much with us 👍
Our wonderful police force are usually one step ahead on these issues, the Government are going to tighten up on firearms again.

Yes, the police were spot on in this case. I am a bit surprised that a worrying development like this only inspires a soppy trip down memory lane for locals.

The National Rifle Association are doing a survey for members on the right to own firearms. Not sure if it will have any influence on any changes.

I don't think the bloke carrying these weapons is a member of the NRA,Janice.
Exactly, it's always registered users that get all the hassle.
I'm afraid your logic escapes me.
Obviously members will be in favour of the right to own firearms is where I was coming from, although any changes will probably only affect them andNot the people who illegally own them.
Well that's cleared that up.
Sorry looking at my posts they could be taken either way,
