Book Donation. Anyone want books?

I have a box of books. Ranging from cookery to David Attenborough to wartime.  Is anyone interested?  Charity shops are not accepting obviously. I know I can take to book recycling at the tip but what happens to the books there?  Are they passed on or merely recycled.?

You could just put them in a box outside your front door with an invitation to ‘help yourself’.  Especially during this dry spell.

Take them to Acton central station and put them in the ‘swap box’? Near the ticket office.

That's generally a very good suggestion - but when I last looked at the end of last week, it was overflowing.There are other station book swaps - West Ealing, Wimbledon and I think Richmond.I got rid of loads early in the first lockdown by just putting them out by our gate on fine days.

When I was a school librarian, I was very fussy about book donations.  I only accepted books I thought children would read, ie current topics of interest/fiction,  at the right level and in excellent condition.  Everything else went to school fairs. If you can wait until April 15th, Oxfam Books should re-open and you can donate them there.
