London cycle routes
There is a Youtube channel called London cycle routes with a series of videos showing routes that use a combination of segregated cycle lanes and quiet streets created by familiar LTN measures in many cases. Very useful for people who want to explore and get around our city on two or three wheels.
The link below shows a route from Rotherhithe to Primrose Hill which features things that are common in London but which have caused dismay and consternation amongst some of the most prolific forumers: bidirectional lanes, floating bus stops, contraflow cycle lanes, traffic restricted streets.
At around 10:30 the narrator says that it is possible to get pretty much anywhere in London using the combination of protected cycle lanes and quiet streets as long as you're not going to West London! That might explain some of the shock and outrage here but also the bemused reactions from transport professionals and people who ride bikes around London for whom all of this is commonplace already.
Anyway enjoy (I have placed into a sealed envelope my predictions for the negative reactions that both this post and some of the video footage will trigger).
