Hounslow's new consultation

We have yet another consultation from Hounslow:https://haveyoursay.hounslow.gov.uk/bids-and-funding/town-centres-draft-visions-engagement/Why do we have yet another one? As with many of these others, all the schemes they propose for Chiswick sound wonderful, but we have no idea what they actually mean in practice, so by answering you think they all sound good, will the results come out that everyone wants new play area and hopskotch areas, which in turn means, lets close a few more roads so we can carry out what you say you want??Maybe it's just me , but we had the streetscape survey which indicated what everyone thought, so why do we need another one?

Technically there is another survey currently ongoing (they call it feedback). LBH have proposed a large increase in allotment charges from £86pa to £120pa and stopping the concessionary discount for over 65s although this does remain for those receiving certain benefits. These rises do however include the water charge which has previously been c£6pa I believe. There is another huge rise for a particular range of plotholders that does not apply to LBH residents. So they've obviously got a thing about surveys.

I made the mistake of actually reading LBH's proposals for Chiswick.  A mixture of the anodyne, the stupid jargon ("improved wayfinding between the town centre, nearby parks..." - I think they mean putting up some new signs!), the bizarrely out of date (playable streets to encourage hopscotch!) and the outright disturbing - "all proposals to engage positively with the Hounslow Design Review Panel" presumably "or else".It is difficult to imagine a bigger pile of steaming BS and only a few pages long

Happy to share my replies to this to anyone who DMs me.  Hounslow won't like my replies so of course will ignore them

I thought the wording was bizarre. Designed to confuse probably. I want to know how much these constant  consultations etc are costing

In our first lockdown children seemed to cover the pavements with chalk rainbows and positive messages. Then I read that chalking was illegal, so what about the promotion of hopscotch?  Hounslow may also have to reconsider their use of mini paving slabs or asphalt in this connection, as they don’t lend themselves easily to this wonderful activity.

I replied to the consultation, but seem to remember one point in there that mentioned something about 'do you want to see an improved health centre on Fishers Lane/Dolman Road which will help the general environment' - or something to that effect. Not sure why they asked that, as the scheme already has planning permission and is going ahead, so why do we need to say we think its good/bad when it's already happening. Whole thing very odd indeed.

Why don't we have a hopscotch lane on the High Road so that people can hopscotch to work instead of the cycle lane? I have been LONGING for outdoor hopscotch areas so this initiative by Hounslow is right up my street (so to speak).
