It all seemed a bit odd and made you wonder what was really all behind it. I feel desperately sad for musicians at the moment particularly as even when lockdown ends they will be faced with new restrictions in performing in the EU. The drummer looking a bit miserable and slightly embarrassed to be there and he said that he normally worked on cruise ships which means his income has gone for the foreseeable. He may have actually got paid for this gig but I don't think Campbell is ever likely to make much of a living from music other than being a front man for a failed attempt to whip up a lockdown rebellion. It looks like that, other than getting some bemused dog walkers to wander over briefly to take a look, most of the people there were associated with the organisation behind the protest. I'd guess that the people funding it were hoping for huge crowds to spontaneously appear making enforcement of the restrictions impossible and this snowballing into a national movement of dissent. It might have worked if they had got someone other than a singer whose main qualification seemed to be he was willing to do karaoke when sober. The police were brilliant and earned their money. I would have found it hard not to tell these entitled, dim-witted narcissists what I really thought of them.
