I've been seeing bumblebees on the flowering shrub honeysuckle outside the window all winter. I'm not sure how they are dealing with the cold for the last few days and nights but it seems that they were all expected to die and just the queens hibernate but now seem not to be behaving in the same way in the south of England. There are photos of them feeding on snowdrops, crocuses, mahonia and winter heather as well as shrub honeysuckle and vibernum bodnatense. There is information here on how to help a tired, cold and hungry bumblebee...https://www.bumblebeeconservation.org/winter-active-bumblebees/
