From the first lockdown when baking ingredients were in short supply in the supermarkets David Lesniak of Outsider Tart provided a massive community service by supplying people, not just in Chiswick but beyond with not just any old flour but everything from good old plain and self raising to spelt, rye, whole grain, 00 and other specialty flours of the quality you would expect a bakery to use and at an extraordinarily reasonable price. As there was a demand he was also able to source yeast, eggs, tinned tomatoes etc. All of this he and his team cheerfully sold from the shop or delivered free of charge and they were intensely proud of being able to do something to help the community. I have no connection to David or his business but was a grateful customer kept sane by being able to bake my way through that first lockdown. I bought for friends and family and happily passed on his details to others that were shielding or unable to get delivery slots or find the products they wanted. Times have been tough for everyone and the businesses that will hopefully survive have had to adapt and adapt again as the rug has been pulled out from under them time and again. Where anyone chooses to shop is entirely their prerogative but if as in your original post you are looking for your flour locally I have no doubt that if you made a quick call, if he didn’t have it in stock David would happily have sourced your t55 for you at a fair price and without an eye watering delivery charge, because that’s just what he does.
