Our inoculations

Great that it’s happening but what about the post that is telling us when to attend when the post is so sporadic- I personally would hate to miss my appointment- this must be worrisome for a lot of people -

Would be good if this has been considered. Not impossible, surely, for these letters to be identified and sorted fast. I don’t suppose they are being posted in ones or twos in odd postboxes.

Friends who have have been vaccinated tell me that they have been telephoned and/or texted by the administrators of the doctors surgery where they are registered. I am no expert but if you are relying in the post it is hard to imagine that your doctor would refuse to re-schedule a missed appointment.

We didn’t know that my wife had an appointment until our surgery contacted us by phone on the morning of the vaccination to tell us that she had an evening appointment.I think that our surgery were making sure that we knew in case we didn’t received a letter, which we hadn’t.

My postie knows when I’ve won on the Premium Bonds , so I reckon the sorting office have this covered. I bloody hope so . They must be distinctive in some way

My husband has just received a phone call from the GP surgery today, to have his jab on Wednesday at Ealing Town Hall on Weds (our GP surgery is in borough of Ealing).  Haven't received a letter at all.

I think that’s what the more enlightened GP Surgery’s are doing, just in case you haven’t  received your letter.

Having been told that some people were advised to go to the o2 in east London! No way would I travel the length of London when I have no car and having really been as safe as possible would I do this- just hoping it’s a nearby place , as I am sure others would agree.

Our GP told me this morning , during a  phone consultation , that Ealing don’t currently have any stock. I wonder if she meant just her surgery?

The Covid-19 letter duly arrived on 14th January...the letter being dated the 11th.I was told to phone 119 to make the appointment or go online...which I did.Having given my NHS number,date of birth and TW5 postcode...I was invited to select from the following: Wembley,Slough,Edware, Epsom Downs,Excel,Marlow,Stevenage!,Aylesbury. "More sites are coming on line so you can re-apply later if you wish."What a surprise..after all the good news locally. (btw I'm 81 and fairly fit still)

I dialled 119 and was warned by the call centre that there could be a long delay before I was attended to.In the event I waited just one minute. I was offered dates at a pharmacy in Pitshanger Lane, Ealing (much closer and not offered on website). Next Sunday for the first jab and 18th April for the second.Hope my personal experience is of some help to others.

My GP surgery (Glebe Street) invited me by text message, which is how they normally send out appointments for flu jabs, etc.
