Uncomplicated mobile phone recommendations please

As this forum seems to be quite good on tech stuff can anyone suggest a good "Dumb phone"?  Requirements are only calling, texting, taking adequate photos, a decent sized phonebook and possibly Bluetooth.I am a bit googled out.Samsung preferred but open to suggestions. Thanks

The Motos are very competitive phones (also look at the Moto G series). Do have a quick review check as one or two are a bit duff (the G7 was a stinker as I recall).Samsung-wise, the A Series are slightly less premium versions of the Galaxy flagship and can be had at a much cheaper price. I'd personally recommend the A50. Also have a look at older Samsungs Galaxy models as they quickly drop in price when the new versions are released.Couple of other recommendations for simple phones- the Google Pixel phones are "stock" Android, so they don't come with all the preinstalled junk that other phones do. The "A" models are slightly cheaper. Also have a look at the OnePlus Nord - they've released some great phones and this is a really good midrange phone. If you wanted to join the dark side, the iPhone 12 mini is a very well specced phone for a reasonable price. And Apple phones "just work"!

Alcatel 2038 dumb phone on o2 takes photos takes SD card, bluetooth £5.  On o2 payg the cheapest is £5 a month for this you get unlimited calls and texts. So compared to a landline great value. On vodaphone there are various plans starting at £10. Their payg 1 charges £1 for first call or text, then all calls and texts free for rest of day. Ok if you dont use every day or is a standby phone.

Check out SMARTY tariffs. Very reasonable with refunds for unused data. No contract.

Now that you can't show your lumps bumps and rashes to the doctor face to face - the camera has become more important.

We bought a lot of second hand Iphone 7s from Music Magpie.  They've gone up in price a bit since lockdown - but you can get a decent one for around £125.We had to return about 20% because the battery health was close to or under 80% (they guarantee over 90%) - but they replaced all of them very quickly. The screens tend to be fine - some phones were pristine, others had very scratched bodies, but invisible once a case is on.We were lucky we'd switched away from wired phones to mobiles for everyone just before lockdown 1 - we'd only intended them as "dumb phones" for making calls with a decent camera. We bought battery cases (not Apple) which significantly extended battery life.Since people have been using phones a lot more, we've tended to purchase the Iphone SE which is less hassle as it is new and a bit more modern.

Allways note who networks piggyback off as some people can only access certain networks in properties or locations used more often

I tether all the time on o2. It is also allowed on o2 payg. Also if you want to buy a phone today you can at ARGOS in Sainsbury. Buy an unlocked phone.

Always useful to have a phone that others can help you with if you get stuck!
