Independent damp surveyor - help pls!
I am sure many of you identify with our issue....We have various very bad damp patches in our Edwardian terrace ground floor flat that we are unable to find the source for. We think it is from penetrating moisture, but builder says its rising damp. I am not convinced about rising damp and if it even exists based on various comments on this forum. https://www.heritage-house.org/damp-and-condensation/the-fraud-of-rising-damp.html.There is also a 'dutch' damp proof system (that we did not install) that I am highly skeptical about and they even charge to come back to check the issues. I am also not sure about the 'free quotes' from damp proof companies as I think they are biased to their own business. Our tenants say they are careful about ventilation and not creating condensation. However, the damp patches are real. So I am considering getting in an independent surveyor. I have been recommended Paul at https://www.westtwelvesurveying.co.uk/. Has anyone any experience with them or others recommendations or advice in general?many thanks
