Smishing attempt scam on my O2 contract

Today , in the last hour I learned that Smishing is a fraud or scam attempt via SMS message and Vishing is an attempt at the same via a voice call. Hmm didn't know those 2. I thought it all stopped at Phishng.Anyway just saying I had a much more nearly convincing scam attempt come through on my mobile on my O2 service message sms thread, the only one that the real O2 sends me details of my monthly bill on. It was just a short message saying out of contract please click the link  below to sort this out however couple of phrases in the message signalled it up for me. You are out of your minimum contact term -  err no,  if I was out of my minimum term I wouldn't be in contractYour monthly airtime plan is 25 quid  - er  no , my plan is nothing like that.Just a warning , you may get it too if on O2  contract

Thanks Andrew haven't had it yet but am aware now.I would advise anyone not to click on these links. If anyone needs to check their account use your app or use the website on a secure broadband link such as home broadband.

Andrew find out from 02 if you are on their marketing list as this is where they get our details from apparently, I had problems a few months ago.

Hi Andy —I hope you are well? —  thanks for this warning.  I had a "smishing" text appearing to be from O2 a while back my phone contract isn't even with O2!

Hi Jane,  Yes almost good, hope you fine.  Well you had an easier spot than me.  Because it came though on official lines I did have to read a few times before I was suspicious it was a Smisher. So today I am a non compliant smishee who has warned other potential smishees of a smisher with a smishing attempt coming their way. Well , so I believe ;-)
