Well, I thought that initially. But seeing so many people outside not socially distanced and clearly not family members - eg dogwalkers chatting - and joggers coming very near, I have changed my mind. This evening a very large bloke came up behind me in the park, panting incredibly heavily, he passed within a couple of inches and I could see his breath in a huge stream very close to me in the cold air. I tried to avoid him but as he was on the footpath, not maintaining any distance at all and behind me, I had to keep looking over my shoulder. Managed to dodge him on two subsequent laps, and each time he left a big vapour trail. And women in groups walk so near me unless I see them well in advance and avoid that I can smell their perfume. No one really knows whether two metres is sufficient, especially with this more contagious virus. Personally, my walks in the park are my only real chance to get fresh air apart from on the garden so really don't want to wear a mask in the park. But as the pandemic is bringing the NHS to its knees, so many people are dying, and people don't seem to want to comply with common sense rules, I think a mandatory crackdown on everyone sadly has to be the way forward.
