Does anybody know of a charity / charity shop that will collect furniture? We have some bunk beds that we would like to donate asap. Many thanks!

The British Heart Foundation are brilliant. However just be aware that lately they seem to have been swamped with donations. This has made them rather more selective about what they will and won't take, especially when it comes to furniture which is surprisingly difficult to dispose of as I can testify after a recent house move. The final decision will rest with the chaps who come to collect.

Here is another charity suggestion. They teach furniture restoration and can be a good place for furniture to be upcycled/mended a little when it is not up to scratch as far as the British Heart Foundation are concerned. They originally said 'small pieces'. They were collecting but who knows in lockdown. There is something recent on their twitterfeed though.https://www.petitmiracles.org.uk/Another option not a charity is www.trashnothing.com which is easier to use interface than traditional Freecycle and whoever you decide to give it to has as part of the deal to pick it up.

Many charities, including the BHF, are not collecting at the moment due to COVID. No idea when they will start again. I'm in the same position of looking for a charity to take all the furniture from my late father's house.

BHF will only collect soft furniture with a fire safety tag attached.
