I don’t understand that shops are forced to close but coffee shops are open. Coffee essential is it?

Coffee essential is it?Yup, more than food in my household.

Coffee shops are perfect environments to spread the virus. Avoid them. They are totally unnecessary at this precarious time. Responsible shops have closed.

Lol, I’ve been in various coffee shops in Chiswick every day for takeout since March and haven’t caught Covid, you been reading too much Daily Mail?
Ben Grundy ● 2136d
Coffee shops are open for take away the same way other shops are open for click and collect. Perfectly responsible of we all adhere to the rules.

Should McDonald’s takeaway close too? They sell coffee and food. How about Nikki’s bakery or gails? They sell coffee and food. Petrol stations, they sell coffee and food. Not that easy to demarcate is it?

Yeah, essential for me to get my day started - the odd one from the “continent, sorry, I mean Europe” ha ha. Joke :-)No idea. I hope they wear gloves when handing the mug/paper cup to their costumer?

Takeaway only.P.S. I think you need to get a life.

Good news that schools to close. Now if coffee shops are closed too we may be able to reduce the spread of the virus.

I feel that stepping inside any building at all is risky and I make fantastic coffee at home.
Vivienne Cox ● 2123d
" I feel that stepping inside any building at all is risky "It is - hence the instruction from Government to STAY AT HOME. Anyone 'popping in' to a coffee shop and risk spreading the virus during these dire times in morally reprehensible. The government should also clamp down radically on passenger air travel. The virus from South Africa is reaping havoc.

Yes, no coffee = disaster to me too! However rarely if ever buy it from a shop - good old cafetiere suits me, until 'im indoors smashed it in the first lockdown!! Panic ensued until I found a single cup model at the back of a cupboard.

I live above a Cafe Nero on CHR and it infuriates me watching all the people swanning around with take away coffees etc. It's not essential at all. Especially when schools are closed along with other businesses, but people can queue up outside a coffee shop. Personally with the current Lockdown nothing has really changed as the streets are still quite busy. I think a lot of this is due to these coffee shops.

If it infuriates you watching all the people swanning around with take away coffees etc, why live above a coffee shop where people can and do, queue up outside, drink coffee and infuriate you? You can hardly complain can you?
Brian Coyle ● 2121d
I simply meant whilst there is a lockdown. Coffee is hardly essential.
Coffee isn't essential. Coyle is just being his normal obtuse self. He can't help it! Ignore him - he is the forum fool.
In my household coffee is most certainly an essential. But decent quality beans can be found at most supermarkets and an inexpensive coffee grinder mean going out to a shop to get my morning hit of caffeine is most definitely not essential

Have we not learned in all these months that just because we aren’t Ill with Covid it doesn’t mean we’re not possibly spreading it. I’m struggling without my fix of grandchildren but I’m keeping my distance . At least I can make coffee at home and FaceTime my little ones .

“ Have we not learned in all these months that just because we aren’t Ill with Covid it doesn’t mean we’re not possibly spreading it.”It seems that we haven’t learned and that is why the Government needs to spell it out to all the morons who are selfishly spreading the virus. If you give the dullards an in they will take a mile. Coffee shops are not essential so the government needs to get its act together and make it clear as to what is essential and what isn’t. Especially when you have some very dimwitted councils who think that flower markets and farmers markets and cheese markets are ‘essential’ . What part of STAY AT HOME do these clowns not understand?
Steve Taylor ● 2120d
What part of this message does Silly Steve not understand ?STAY AT HOMEPROTECT THE NHSSAVE LIVESSTAY OFF SOCIAL MEDIASTOP INSULTING YOUR FELLOW CITIZENS
Richard Greenhough ● 2120d
Steve you took the words out of my mouth Cheese Market !! encouraging people to gather for non essential cheese to go with their non essentialCoffee. Is this two fingers up to the NHS , stupid Council encouraging this because it makes them money
Maggie Dodge ● 2120d
Indeed, the irresponsible cretins who flock to the coffee shops or waltz around the cheese market and farmers market, are showing two fingers to the NHS. Covid deniers are despicable!
