In this article there is a tabulation showing the different areas of Chiswick, does anybody know of a map that shows these different areas ?

Better put than my post - exactly not sure where these areas are.

There is a tabulation of the figures in the article. To see a map you'd need to go to this page and enter your postcode. https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/interactive-map

That does not seem to answer the question, I was asking for a boundary map showing the areas referred to in the tabulation in the article ie Chiswick north east.

John Southey ● 2138d

If you go to the link I sent you then enter your postcode you can zoom into the map which will be centred on Chiswick. It shows the area boundaries and if you hover over an area it will give you the name. The area names are usually descriptive except for Chiswick Park which seems to take in the western half of the centre of Chiswick up down to the A4. Bedford Park is the Ealing bit of Bedford Park, Chiswick North West is broadly Acton Green, Chiswick South West is SotG, Chiswick South East is Grove Park, Chiswick North East is the eastern end of Hounslow borough from Abinger Road down to Chiswick Mall.

exactly how many of the100 new cases reported in Chiswick have resulted in hospital admission?

Janice Jones ● 2138d

Interesting question. It doesn't look like these figures are published at a local level but a quick dig around the internet suggests that the hospitalisation rate for Covid is around 3% Which would mean 3-4 people from Chiswick have been admitted this week.

Does it matter how many and whereJust take it that its out there. Numbers are meaningless when it comes to the virus as numbers are never broken down.

Julian Pavey ● 2138d

Actually I think it does matter. Chiswick has been shut down for what could be as few as 3/4 new hospital admissions. We do  know it is out there and some of us stick to the rules and follow all the guidelines and as long as we safeguard ourselves and others with masks and distancing I really can’t see the need for such draconian measures

Thanks for that link. Must admit I’d never heard of Middle-Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs). Can’t help feeling the world is passing me by.

Michael David Rowe ● 2138d

My neighbours were admitted last week. The wife of the couple almost certainly caught it from her work in a nursery/primary school

John whitworth, thankyou

Those figs are to Dec 14. The plague is apparently accelerating though.

So you have answered the critism of the MP kenChristmas is 5 days but then it changed within days for a reason

"Must admit I’d never heard of Middle-Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs)."Wait until you hear about Lower-Layer Super Output Areas (LSOAs)....MSOAs are further divided into smaller areas called LSOAs for government stats but I don't think the Covid data is being reported at this level of detail.

Michael Robinson ● 2138d

So MSOAs divide into LSOAs which seem to divide into OAs!https://ocsi.uk/2019/03/18/lsoas-leps-and-lookups-a-beginners-guide-to-statistical-geographies/

"The wife of the couple almost certainly caught it from her work in a nursery/primary school"Yes, schools are one of the worst. Should have been closed in November already. Totally irresponsible for bungling buffoon Williamson to have kept them open. Expect a huge increase in school staff resignations.

The following day's numbers are out. They have risen again in all the areas except for Chiswick South West which is the same as before.
