Well the goverment has washed its hands over heathrow so this goverment wont be doing anything such. Im told as heathrow has the green light its going to start next year airside  so any idea that another goverment in four years time will think about stopping it will be very hard and very very costly and likely to fail. You cant stop something that is half built after a green light The fight is over

The fight has been ongoing for 17 years and each year campaigners are told it's over and each year they have battled on.  Heathrow would love people to believe the fight is over.  It's now beginning all over again. BTW - how does pulling even more UK flights into LHR fit with this so-called Government's levelling-up promises to the Red-Walled North.

Correct, Ken, especially as if Heathrow - the airport whose traffic largely consists of people changing planes which does not help our economy at all -  does expand, some regional airports will need to close and the remainder will certainly not be able to grow if we are to stay within  our government's promises on emissions. Although those could change, of course....

How will the increased number of passengers get to Heathrow? On the A4? What is pollution there and how will it look like with more passengers at Heathrow? What do we have alongside the 6 lane A4? Is it green belt like on the M4, or is it residential Chiswick, full of houses, schools, playgrounds and offices? Has anybody seen the outcome of Ella’s inquest, on how pollution contributed to the 9yo death living on the South Circular?

How can the Government give the ok for Heathrow expansion when the Climate Change Summit is to be held in Glasgow next year?Perhaps Boris would be pleased not to have to lie down in front of the bulldozers!
