Parcel Royal Mail

A parcel was sent out in London 6 Dec. and tracking says “in transit”. The next subject - which hasn’t a tick✔️- is “out for delivery”. Is the parcel still in the post office?And now: no mail since 14 days now.

Once upon a time, long long ago, when I was a student it was a custom for us to help out with the Christmas surplus post. It was great. We got to meet a bunch of new people and we earned a bit of money. It was also a stress-free introduction to the world of paid work. It was almost a rite of passage as I recall and everybody got all their cards on time.This doesn’t happen any more, does it? And why and when did this custom fade away?

Very good money (for a student) if I recall!We too have a parcel "out for delivery" for some days. On enquiring at the Chiswick collection office, it appears the parcel is still "upstairs" awaiting a postman!

The real problem is they do not have anyway of allowing contact, their published tel number is a series of recordings, no email number.I have a parcel that has been tracked from China via DHL, I noticed they had tried to deliver at o.7.00 hrs, and no answer. ( I was up and about)I noticed that the post code was incorrect on the tracking note although it was correct on the order confirmation. I rang DHL, they told me it had been putout for delivery to Royal Mail, my heart sank, have been trying to get through to Royal Mail fo the last hour, fed up !

But since you used DHL I assumed they would delivery not Royal Mail?

The 7:00 scan is an automatic scan of attempted delivery, This happens when the delivery does not get done or attempted on the previous day.

kat ja, DHL passed the parcel to Royal Mail for final delivery. I have tried all the numbers, no good. We have also been to the sorting office, who could not help as he was short of staff, he did invite us to return if it had not appeared in two or three days and he would refer it to a Manager.

We are in the middle of a pandemic so unfortunately cannot just expect everything as usual. I have just heard of another sorting office (not in London) with a problem. One postman gets ill and several others have to isolate. If they are lucky they can bring someone in from another office.Delivery at Christmas was always difficult with lots of people who didn't know the routes. There's nothing quite like having a regular postie.

Disagree...Got a parcel from Germany with DHL and it took 3 days and another one 4 days. Even from Portugul to U.K. it took only 6 days. Whatever- next year I will hopp on a plane and deliver myself because that is even cheaper than file a claim with RM

Today Sunday 11am a guy knocked at our door and delivered 9 parcels. He “is helping out Royal Mail”.
