Wonky Christmas Tree

Have just established that our Christmas tree (real, about 7-8' in height) is wonky in its wooden base. Given we have a 4 year old and it needs to be stable, can anyone recommend a stand - that can be sourced locally?  Thanks in advance.

Wherever Christmas trees are on sale they will almost certainly have stands (rather than the log slice with a hole in the middle). Wheelers by TGT tube always has them.

Thanks Bruce, I'll have a look tomorrow.  It's a bit irritating tbh, because when we bought the tree it was standing upright, but at home in our kitchen, it has a definite tilt and is really unstable!

If there's a choice it's also worth getting a stand that has a water reservoir. You would be amazed at how much the tree will drink. Without water it will be lucky to make Christmas day. For future reference get one with a full-size trunk. Most places will narrow it for you if necessary.  You should also ask them to take a narrow slice off the bottom and get it into water as soon as you can.And that is all I know about Christmas trees!

Thanks again, have to say that I was thinking about that... we used to have a stand which had a reservoir just as you describe, but it started to leak and I chucked it.  That was in the days when I thought £6 for a holder was expensive - can't believe how much they cost these days!

I'd settle for the days when the tree itself was £6. Now every Christmas I feel the need to ensure that it's only the one they're selling me, not the entire forest!
