Bus stop eastbound on CHR near the Roebuck

Just wondered when this  eastbound bus stop was closed and  presumably  moved slightly further west.  I stood under the shelter this afternoon and then realised as not one but two 237’s (travelling together)?sailed past having indicated stopping slightly further back that the bus stop had moved.  I should have realised when I couldn’t see a reference to the bus numbers but there was no sign saying the stop was closed! This is presumably due to the cycle lane?

Yes, it's because of the cycle lane.  The westbound "Chiswick Lane" stop is now accessed from an island.  By moving the eastbound stop to the other side of Mayfield Avenue, they were able to leave room for other eastbound vehicles to overtake a bus stopped there, but we've lost a number of parking bays as a result, and the plans didn't do anything about moving the shelters.

Thank you Richard - when did they do this? Maybe I have been being un  observant! Might make sense to move the shelter too as I wasn’t the only one standing there!

I really don't know why they don't make better use of bus shelters for imparting information to bus users about any local changes to services.  Lots of people are not online or don't have the time to read masses of online information even if they are.  They could visually explain some of what was going on eg bus islands.
