Beware this driver

To the woman driving a BMW last night around 11pm around Acton Green.Did you not see the signs stating that our road is closed? They are pretty large and if you actually looked down the road you’d see more signs and bollards blocking the road. Perhaps it was because you were on your phone, which you were.Was it because you’d had too much to drink that you decided to chance it anyway and drive up  to the road block? So then you realised that the road was blocked. But you had a cunning plan to save you reversing or turning the car around. By knocking down the bollards and a sign you calculated you could drive onto the pavement and carry on your way. Perhaps  your self-entitlement leads you to believe that rules are there for others and not for you.  Or you were too drunk to reverse. Or too drunk to care. I hope you carry on behaving like this because at some point someone will have their phone on them and you’ll be caught, breathalysed and fined. And have a lovely Christmas.

Since we don't have police to deal with all the speeding and bad and illegal driving I guess we will have to depend on cameras to record and fine people. Interesting on the motorway yesterday (first time in a month) to see in daylight but very poor conditions quite a few drivers with no tail lights although they appeared to have headlights on.  The overheard warning message was "Beware Spray" or something similar.  If you now have to tell drivers not to drive in the lane marked with a red X (it is a fineable offence as well as plain stupid and dangerous) then you obviously have to be more specific about the problems of wet roads and spray.

"Since we don't have police to deal with all the speeding and bad and illegal driving I guess we will have to depend on cameras to record and fine people."Yes, and when cyclists are registered the cameras can catch all the illegal cycling and Councils can make a fortune in fines.  In the meantime there are so many roads closed by stupid Cllrs that the public are being goaded into mass civil disobedience.  People aren't prepared to put up with the despotic behaviour of very stupid local authorities anymore.

If you observed all of this, were you able to take the registration number and colour of this BMW.  once reported, if the Police are minded to, they can trawl the CCTV and then trace and deal with said offender.

The police don't have time to deal with roads which are closed for no good reason by a despotic council. They have better things to do, surely?  They could start arresting those breaking the Covid laws for starters.

No, if I had managed to do that I probably would have informed the police. She might have got a £100 fine but her sense of entitlement isn’t going to change.

So the car lights are automatic and come on when you turn the key?  Maybe but not necessary all of them...  it could be just some automatic LED headlight.  YOU need to turn lights on so that you have both tail lights on as well as headlamps.I think that is why there are so many cars not properly lit in the poor visibility that you get when there is a lot of spray on the road.  People just don't realise the danger they are putting themselves (and others) into.https://www.theaa.com/driving-advice/safety/automatic-lights

All modern cars seem to have those LED little lights around their headlights as standard. What with electric window winders, remote opening, SatNav instructions, parking bleepers and all that, you wonder what drivers have to do these days. They certainly do not always use their spare time to concentrate.

Any non-anecdotal evidence to suggest an excessive amount of Police time has been devoted to enforcing the provisions of the Coronavirus act? Preferably some sort of statistical evidence rather than mentioning how many celebs have been hit with £10000 fines.
